Default expo line developments

for anyone who is looking forward to the opening of the expo line from downtown to culver city, there was some serious work being done today where the interim terminus will be located (venice blvd/national blvd). for a couple of weeks the prefab rebar columns for the bridge foundations have been laying at the site, but today a crane was placing them. i would imagine that the forms will go up soon as well, which means they should be pouring the concrete very soon.

i guess the opening of the line has been pushed back and should be open before this time next year. i would imagine there will be more delays, but hopefully we'll all be riding the train before the end of 2010.

Expo Line is going to be a serious improvement to the public transit on the Westside, especially when phase 2 is completed. I will definately get plenty of use out of it.

I agree it will be nice.

That said, we would have had a SUBWAY running under Wilshrie Blvd. from downtown to Santa Monica by NOW, it weren't for two VERY shortsighted politicians (read: Waxman & Yaroslavsky).

Granted the management snafus with the Red Line in the 1990's didn't help. But the PRIMARY blame for there being no Subway to the Sea lies on Waxman and Yaroslavsky's shoulders.

And I otherwisie don't hold anything against them but that is a CRIME enough for me to forever hold it against them. A total CRIME against LA for the empty political shell games they played to DERAIL and DELAY the Wilshire subway....

Yes, it is very exciting and it will greatly improve some traffic issues in Los Angeles.

Some of the monies from the stimulas package/monies are being used to build the Expo Line, so thank you Mr. OBAMA.

You can see the monies became available within the last 4-6 weeks because they have been moving fast and workers are working where in the past couple of years the equipment has simply been sitting around in the storage areas.

Everyday I pass by the areas and they have made great progress. They say it should be complete by the spring of 2010.

YIPPIE!
