Westside Tavern on Pico Blvd - Any Thoughts??
Has anyone visited the Westside Tavern on Pico Blvd in West LA?
I am looking for a half-way decent place for a first date. Casual but classy and maybe not too noisy.
Food does not have to be great, as long as it is decent to good. We might only have cocktails anyway.
Thanks for any input.
YIKES, I see now it is part of Westside Pavillion, maybe not such a good idea after all......

isn't that the bar that's part of the movie theater? if you want to have some drinks and see a movie, it might be a good choice. otherwise, you may be better off somewhere else.

It is an above average restaurant, ate there twice. I would recommend it for a first date.

Thanks. What about it being "in the mall", though I see that it fronts on Pico Blvd so it may seem like it's NOT part of the mall..????

Think Houston's at Century City, Westside Tavern is like that... with a better beer selection.

Houston's is fun.
I love R+D Kitchen on Montana, which is a Houston's property. Save that for your 2nd date though.

Sounds good. I'll check that out.
Thanks to all for posting your thoughts!
I took her to Westside Tavern after all and it went just fine. It was a bit louder than I expected. That said, it was a full house (Thursday night); HOWEVER, it was far LESS noisy than many places are. My date even made note of how she appreciated that we could hear each ohter.
