Default Road triping from TX to San Jose, Visiting LA is on the list

I will be visiting LA with my wife... we are pretty froogle folks and it doesn't take a lot to please us. So far on our itinerary is riding our mountain bikes and shopping down rodeo dr. Next is visiting Hollywood and taking pictures and also visiting/driving/and riding our bikes around Beverly Hills. Then we might visit and ride our bikes at a few of the beaches. We are also going to visit Archie's. We've seen that grocery store in 2 movies and we want to go see it in person. Any more recommendations of things we can do would be great too. Things that dont involved spending large amounts of money.

But the question is, we saw in a movie... "Win a Date with Tad Hamilton"... where they were I guess in LA on a concreted hill top overlooking the entire city. Me and my wife would like to do that. Where is this hill top that they are on top of overlooking LA....

first, riding your bikes through beverly hills is not a safe thing to do. BH has little to no bike lanes and the main thoroughfares are always busy with little to no room for cyclists. some of the residential streets north of wilshire are nice and wide, but there are stop signs at almost every intersection, which as I'm sure you know is very annoying when on a bike.

second, the view from the pic in your post has to be from the southern part of the city as the hills are in the background. i would venture to guess that the view is from the baldwin hills lookout near th intersection of jefferson/la cienega. fyi, it's $6 to park your car up there and it's up a very steep hillside, so cycling up would be very difficult.
