I'm looking to move to LA sometime in the distant future. I was wondering what the job scene was like and how hard is it to find a job in LA? I have experience in call center government work, real estate ( I was an apartment manager) and hotel (front desk clerk, night auditor) and restaurant work (waiter). I'm pretty much open to anything and would be looking in advance, but I was just wanting to know anyones thoughts...

In general the job market is bad. It is the worst on the west coast. But it all depends on your skills and education.

It''s bad. It is very tough right now to find a job. It seems like the massive bleeding of jobs has stopped a bit (for awhile there it seemed like everyone I know was losing jobs or hours or coworkers left and right), but it's going to take time to recover. You say "distant future," though, so things may be much better by then. I certainly hope so!

What do you mean by the distant future? If you wait long enough the economy should come back and you can find a decent job. Do remember the cost of living will be 2 to 3 times higher than in MO. (at least rents will be) Right now it would be suicide to even think about re-locating.
