I am a Music Producer from London in the U.K and i am looking to move to LA for 3 months to look for some opportunities within the urban music industry. I need help with finding a living place that is safe, friendly, welcoming, cheap, culturally diverse and is relatively close to all the fun that LA has to offer (Nightlife, Great Leisure Activities And Good Shopping Complexes) . I am also in my early 20s so i would also prefer an area that has loads of people around my age group.

Thanks

Is it OK if it is on the beach?

Where will your job be?
What is your budget?

I don't think that "cheap and safe" go hand in hand in most major cities.

Also finding a 3 month short term housing will limit your choices possibly.

I smell robotic spam.

If you're legit though, check out Long Beach.

Not necessarily. For example, in San Francisco, the Sunset District is relatively cheap and safe. If you're willing to live a bit farther from LA than most places, the eastern part of Ventura County (Thousand Oaks, Simi Valley, etc.) is one of the safest areas in the US. Median home prices are about $250 per sq ft for a single-family house, so not super-cheap but reasonably affordable. The key is "cheap and safe and hip." That, you'll have to pick two of three.

OP, I think in your case you can consider sharing an apartment in Westwood (which retails for about $400 per sq ft, or rents for about $2 per sq ft).

The thing I'm worried about is that i might be seen as an easy target because i have no clue about LA what so ever, that's my reasoning behind trying to find somewhere safe and friendly.
i will be studying at SAE Institute for 3 months. the address is 6565 Sunset Blvd Los Angeles, CA 90006. I think it is in north hollywood. So basically i am looking for areas relatively close to there and with good public transport links. i will be willing to pay $500 a month for living space. Do you think that is realistic??

Thanks For Your Help Guys, Its Really Appreciated.

Your address is in Hollywood but you could live in North Hollywood and use the Red Line and that would probably save you money and stress.

Unknown road to 6565 Sunset Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90028 - Google Maps
