White gangs? (Santa Monica, West Hollywood: live, most dangerous, safe)

There were once white gangs in the LA area, and they were violent. They were formed to terrorize minorities and scare them away from moving into the suburbs. Basically, it was a kind of KKK. Anyway, as you might guess, they moved on out to other parts, and I'd guess they went to the SFV, IE, OC, and farther out, during the first waves of white flight in the 1950s.

Part of the reason you can't compare gun crimes in the USA to gun crimes in Europe is that a lot of European nations have different gun laws.

It's somewhat ignorant to attempt to compare drive-by crime in LA, other large American cities, and European cities to prove that gang activity is worse in LA.

For one, LA is much more automobile-centric than other American cities. I wouldn't doubt that there are probably more car related thefts or crime here than other places. Conversely, I'm sure there are more subway-related crimes in New York than in LA.

Gang activity can focus on pretty crime, drug trade, prostitution, murder, gambling, etc. A gun-toting street gang in South Central is probably not any worse/better than a pack of hoodlums in Eastern Europe or corrupt businessmen in Sicily... they all have their own affect on society.

That's a great lesson in selecting data in order to fit a predetermined conclusion.

And one step further, how many drive-by shootings occur in poor White neighborhoods? Whites don't do that crap regardless of income levels.

There were still white gangs in LA until the 1980s. And I don't mean in beach cities either
