House we're renting is set up for Verizon Fios but it's pricey. What are our options in Lawndale for internet service?

Probably not what you're looking for, but what about 3G? At least you can take it anywhere you go. I think 5 gigabytes/month is around $45? Good if you aren't downloading a lot.
