The only dangerous things about LA are the rising home invasions and grand theft auto. It happens no matter where you go, even in rich areas.

I'll begin by saying that there are certain areas in L.A. that you definitely want to avoid, at least during the night. The places I'm referring to specifically would be Compton, Paramount, Bellflower, any places ending in "Gardens" or "Courts" (jk), and South L.A. in general. But for the most part, at least as of the last time I was there, I wasn't worried much at all. Basically any place where you see barbed wire wrapped around the street signs is a good place to avoid. But other than that, just enjoy yourself.
