Moving from NYC to Cali? Confused New Yorker seeks help!

Love how people think of moving to california but, have no plan of action to do it wisely.... Just get on the grey hound bus and show up any all will work out just the way you see in the movies...

Along with south pasadena, most of the San Gabriel valley cities are relatively nice except parts of pasadena, rosemead and el monte.

Alhambra, Arcadia, Temple City, San Gabriel, San Marino, and South Pasadena are all good cities.

san marino has the best schools by far but it's insanely (seriously CRAZY) expensive and exclusive. small city, too.

san gabriel, which is south of san marino, also has a nice and (in my opinion) underappreciated public school system. it's also in a good location commute-wise. lots of asians and good asian food, though it's chinese dominated.

arcadia has nice schools as well but isn't in the best location commute wise.

south pasadena isn't as bad as san marino for prices, but it may be hard to find a place since it's also a very small city.

temple city, from what i've heard, has affordable homes and a good public school system.

Unless you are married to the idea of LA for some reason you should really consider the Bay Area or parts of NorCal as well.
