i posted on here a while back that my wife and i have made a decision to move back to santa monica from colorado. we now have an offer on our house and are seriously contemplating the move. of course we have lots of friends in LA who are all very supportive and my wife wants to go for it right now... sell the house, quit the jobs and move back.

so heres the facts... we'll have 120k to live off of. i am an art director and can freelance full-time, in fact i have little interest in a full time job. my wife has many years experience in film and would need to get a job for insurance and income.

any help, suggestions would be great. should we delay and rent in denver for a bit? the fact is we miss LA, all of our friends and are seriously miserable in CO. nice place, just not for us. is anyone else a freelancer in advertising/design? how is the market? do you think 120k is enough dough to let it roll? there is no real back up plan, but as we know LA its difficult to get a job there if your not actually there.

(we both up and left the east coast when we were young and made it good in LA. dont ask why we left it was a bad decision. when i first came to LA i had 3k and was 28)

much thanks

I'd say go for it. You have about 119k more than most people who try.

Why do I get the feeling we'll be reading more posts like this in the next year or two?
