Picture is of Sally Field in the car in the TV series Gidget from 1965. The burger joint is now Gladstone's Seafood Restaurant. The gas station is still a Chevron!

Here's what that corner looks like now from some different angles:

That office park is on the old footprint of the Lindomar.

That's a good shot of the way all the highway signs used to be... white lettering on a black background instead of green.

Noticed the price of gas in 65 was a smidge over 39 cents and the current pictures had it at $3.13 a gallon. Although I would love to go back to cheaper gas are we really out of line paying less than 10X what we paid in 1965? Not that I am saying I wouldn't mind a cheaper gallon of gas. I would say that it is easier for me to come up with $3.13 a gallon now than it would have been to come up with .39 a gallon back then. I think my dad made $350 a month back then. The house payment was $105 a month. Pictures were cool though.
