Why not just become a movie star in LA instead? They make a lot more money.

I thought people from the UK hated the United States because of how right-wing, war-starved, intellectually inferior, and blah blah we are...

OK, just kidding. What part of LA are you looking at? Best wishes in your move.

You need a visa to be able to work here, and the days of large companies sponsoring people are over really. To be able to do that, you need to show you have some sort of talant which cannot be easily found here in the USA and a company willing to pay the money to hire you and transfer you. In this climate and even previously in the boom this wasnt happening.

That leaves you with purchasing a business and getting a visa typically a L1 or E2 visa on the back of this. you need to be aware that since the govt cracked down on this business's need to meet strict requirements as only certain businesses qualify for the visa. Also you would only be able to work for yourself, and wouldnt be able to work for anyone else.

The best piece of advice is to consult an immigration attorney here in the USA. dont do it in the UK as there are alot of cowboys who will take your money and provide nothing. Once you know where you stand with your visa, then consider where to move to as without the visa it is a non starter and this is the hardest hurdle.

Apart from the visa thing which is quite a big deal the competition here will be very fierce.
I have only met two personal trainers in my time in the US.
One was a Ex Olympic athlete and the other was a 5th Dan black belt.
BTW both were Brits and both managed to get a visa...so it is possible!

Exactly what I thought.

It would be nice ($$$) to be a personal trainer for the stars.

I moved from London to LA. Feel free to PM me and we'll talk.
