Another quick question - I'm going out and looking at some more homes in the area tomorrow. There are a few in 90805 that are at the very east end, off Harding and Coke in between Downey Ave and Lakewood Blvd.

I've read quite a bit about how bad that zip is in general but is that little pocket of homes as bad as the rest of the area? Just curious. Thanks!

That just might work. My aunt lived in the part of Bellflower adjoining that section of LB at one time and I don't recall there being any problems.

So, fadedgrey, have you and your family been able to move to Lakewood yet? I'm in the vicinity of Lakewood Blvd. and South Street, EAST of Lakewood Blvd. As EelRiver said, this is a nice, family-friendly city. If you're already here, welcome to the neighborhood!

I would most definitely try to go for Torrance and bordering parts of Carson as opposed to Lakewood and NLB. 90504 is fine, lived there for years and no problems.
