I was wondering if anyone has stayed in any of the Oakwood Apartments. I will be working in El Segundo and was wondering which one is near that area. Also what were the price range per night and what is around the area?

My folks stayed at the Oakwoods/ Hollywood Hills during the period of selling their house and waiting for the new one to be built. Nightly rates???? They're apartments, rented on either a 6 month lease or a yearly lease. You can do a month-to-month lease, but that's pretty expensive.
How did they like it? It was an apartment. Apartment living at about $1500 a month (2b/ 2b apartment/ furnished). Nothing fun about living in an apartment. Well... that's not true, you do get to listen in on your neighbor's every move. LOL.

I stayed at Oakwood Apartments in Marina Del Rey for about 2 weeks that my job paid for while I was looking for housing since I moved from the midwest. It was about 3-4k a month for a 1 bedroom and that didn't even include maid service. The apartment was fully furnished. Decent amenities and secure parking was great. They also offer free continental breakfast on Sundays or Saturdays but there was always a long line I never got to it. Definitely not worth it to do month-to-month.

Oakwood caters to more corporate housing. A friend of mine works at Oakwood in Seal Beach.

I have stayed in Oakwood properties in Philadelphia and they were standard furnished apartments. They had several complexes and like any other group of apt complexes, they varied as to age and condition.

As mentioned before, these are principally Corporate Housing facilities despite having a number of "permenant" tenents as well. The properties appeared to be well maintained, but suffer from the same problems any apt complex is likely to have over time.
