Some of you may remember I made a thread about new homes in LA (Where are all the new homes in LA?).

I came across some new homes in an area called Monterey Hills. I did a search and couldn't find much info about this area. Wikipedia didn't say much or demographics either.

It is close to the Asian community which is something we requested. School wise wouldn't matter since no one in the house hold would be going to school.

What are your thoughts?

Thanks!

As a neighbor too Monterey hills, I can fill you in pretty much.
I live at the base of the hills.
The hills is a condo community.
There are many condo buildings spread out through out the hills.
In terms of area, it is less than a mile square.
There are some asian people livingh here, but not in abundance.
There is a private school that in my understanding, is owned by a asian conglomerate.
The hills is a great community with some great views.
It is bordered by South Pasadena on the north, Highland Park on the west, El Sereno on the east, Lincoln heights on the south
To my knowledge there are no single family dwellings in the hills, just condos.
Bob.

Thanks Bob.

Theres a new community of 20 single family homes built off Hawley Ave. One thing my family is looking for a great view of the city. Hopefully this is the one.

Alan

Hawley ave isn't in Monterey hills.
It is off Monterey road south of Debbs park.
It is at the base of Monterey hills, across from the hills.
There wouldn't be any views because it is flat land.
Though I live about one half mile from Hawley ave, I don't know much about that little area.
It is kinda like a small village with 3 or 4 small neighborhood streets.
One street into the area, and one out.
Debbs park surrounds this little village.
I don'tthink the area has a name as other areas do.
I think it is just Los Angeles.
Actually not much of it is visible when driving on Monterey road.
It sets back from the road.
Debbs park surrounds this little village to the north and west.
The nearest schools would be Lincoln high in Lincoln heights.
There are three elementary schools near by though.
Bob.

Monterey Hills is sort of hidden in the hills close to Montecito Hts. Good street skate-boarding.

The address of one of the listings is:

3736 HAWLEY Ave
Monterey Hills, CA 90032

This might not be the official address because if you look at it in the map you can see that it points to an existing house and right next to it is the empty lot. The new development probably does not have a road name yet.

I believe you are right that it is Los Angeles but just relatively close to Monterey Hills.
