You'll have to be on the look-out, the state is on a warpath, as they are enforcing ridiculous Driving/parking laws for revenue.

They are hitting up everyone for minor infractions they'd usually turn a blind eye to and or not give a second thought to.

I know plenty of people who have recieved tickets recently from all over los angeles county. I am by no means saying they're not warranted, however, the rate and consistency is something i've never seen before.

It is VERY rare to see Traffic Enforcement vehicles outside the range of 1 mile from downtown in most cities. You'll see them tag along with street sweepers but never independently.

Now, i am seeing them on powertrips scribbling tickets as far out as 2-1/2 miles from downtown. I'm taking residential areas here.

I have recieved two completely baseless cititations recently. I live in LB and usually i'll roam around on a motorscooter around the surrounding areas. These citations are 46.00 each, uggh! I'll fight them and defeat them like the two mammoth tickets i defeated in 09'.

I was recently downtown to handle a ticket for my grandmother!!! The line had to be around 350 deep with an additional 100 outside going to various areas within the courthouse. I heard so many stories from people discussing their ticket. The stories ranged from the incredible, surreal, justified, to the flat out profiling variety. This wasn't on a monday! It was a THURSDAY!

I'd just advise everyone out there to not give the city a reason to pilfer your hard earnings, its nothing short of confiscation of funds! Look for intersection camera's, stuff change into meters, beware of red and green zones etc.

I dunno, I prefer existing rule enforcement over a blanket tax increase. I've lived in other cities/states where every law is enforced and the cops had very little else to do.

I got a ticket in downtown LA last month for b/c one of my headlights was out. I didn't even realize it was out until I got pulled over. The cops in downtown are really strict...any little infraction and they are all over you.

They can start by ticketing all the illegaly parked big rigs on the sides of freeways where it is clearly marked "Emergency Parking Only". These guys make a habit of taking their rest periods there and sleeping. Two "crime scenes" are the 101 just east of Las Virgenes and the 118 east of Moorpark College.
