That's too bad for you then. Political correctness is not needed. European cultures and European Americans are just as important as all other cultures and ethnic groups. All cultures should be celebrated in a way, including those of Europeans and people of European descent around the world.

Agreed! But obviously not necessarily in LA which, by the way, was the original point of this thread, not Boston, New York or elsewhere.

Huh? You said that "dead, white, European males weren't politically correct", and now you're agreeing with all that I said?

I think Saint Patrick's Day could have been celebrated in Los Angeles. There is a sizable Irish American population in Los Angeles.

What I was saying was that "dead, white, European males weren't politically correct" in LA.

Clearly they're OK in other places. So in that respect I was agreeing with you.

My issue wasn't with the Irish. It was and remains with LA which, in a month and a half, will be celebrating Cinqo de Mayo with gusto.

Full disclosure: I prefer Guinness to tequila and bagpipes to mariachis!

You're in the wrong city my friend. Cinco de Mayo probably means more to many people in Los Angeles than July 4th.
