Ahh the age old question. Simple answer: this city is way too overpopulated and everyone uses their car because the public transportation is not good. CA is in debt and has no money to fix it.

I highlighted the ones that were relatively close. I didn't research thee actual county... plus I live in orange county so I am not familiar with those areas. PS... new info... Apparently Brentwood is a nice place to live - my friend from LA said this was a comfortable and safe place. We are considering it.

I now get to compare traffic in New York, Chicago, Toronto and LA. We'll see which one's worst.

I am also looking at Brentwood and Westwood and around the four corners of the 405 & 10 area since I'll be driving a lot. Btw, PT stands for Physical Therapy, sorry for the confusion.

Thanks for everyone's opinions. Definitely helps narrow down the search. I'm hoping to spend less than $1000/month for rent and utilities with parking. I'm seeing some good rooms being rented out in craigslist, but with my budget, but I have to expand the area a bit away from 405 & 10 but still near the freeway. I do try to limit my search to nothing south of 90.
