Default Temp. accomodation in Artesia, CA

Hi,
I am planning to come to Artesia, CA in the last week of August and will be staying there for about 2 weeks, or may be 4 more, depending upon how much time it takes for my meetings and interviews. I am looking for an affordable temporary accomodation. I will have my wife accompanying me, so the place has to be safe.
Can someone suggest or guide me in this matter PLEASE?
Are there any weekly rentals or monthly rental homes or motel around that area?

Thanx,
Ron

Since you will have to be renting a car (this is Los Angeles, no public transportation of any consequence) I would suggest you look for weekly hotel accommodations in Lakewood, which is just west of Artesia. It's a better neighborhood, with hotels to satisfy people coming in for business reasons: aviation contruction, etc. Any of the motel chains online should help you with choosing their most family-friendly location.

Artesia is a 48% foreign-born neighborhood, mainly Filipino and Latino, which is neither here nor there, but is right next to Compton, Bellflower, etc. and no one wants to see your wife and you end up there through someone's ignorance. Compton is the pits, as bad as its reputation.

I posted a reply on the Long Beach forum. You may read that info about where to stay.
I do not live in SoCal anymore but there is good and bad in all cities.
Compton, yes, has become pretty rough in recent years. But most of my family still lives in Bellflower and it is not a ghetto!!!! I feel safe whenever I return there.
