Hi,
I am moving to the LA area to work in La Canada Flintridge. I am looking for a place to move to that will be a non-nightmarish commute to there. Most of what I'm looking at is in the SGV area.

I have been in Pasadena and Arcadia, and put my toe into Monrovia. I've driven through South Pasadena and San Marino. Just on the once through, it seems that most of Arcadia and San Marino may be out of what I'd want to do financially.

I'm looking for a 1BR or studio. I know that rent is high, but I'd like to keep it from leaving orbit, while staying safe. I'm slightly biased towards Pasadena due to familiarity and commute distance, but even that is not set.

Also, I know very little about what is north on the 210 from La Canada. What's the story up there?

Are there any other suggestions? What should I expect in rent?

you should check out Montrose and Glendale. the commute to La Canada is much better, and there are plenty of apartments available that tend to be cheaper than Pasadena.
