Default Summer concerts (some free, some not)

Among other things, L.A. is great for free outdoor concerts. Here are the ones I know about so far:

Santa Monica Pier - Free concerts at 7:30 every Thursday beginning June 28th at 7:30 on the West Parking Deck. Twilight Dance Series 2007

Universal City Walk - Summer Block Party begins on June 28th and goes through August, with free concerts every Friday night with The Spazmatics, an 80s cover band, hosted by DJ Richard Blade, beginning at 7:30 p.m. Universal CityWalk’s Summer Block Party (June 28 to September 1, 2007) - Things to Do

Warner Center Park, Woodland Hills - Concerts in the Park are presented free, each Sunday, June through Labor Day weekend, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Lou Bredlow Pavilion. Many different artists. Valley Cultural Center - Concerts - Concerts in the Park - June 2007

Concerts in the Park, Valencia - They have free concerts every Saturday at 7:00 p.m. from July 7th through August 25th, with various bands, in Central Park. City of Santa Clarita, CA - Arts & Events: Concerts in the Parks - Calendar (http://www.santa-clarita.com/arts/concerts/cal.asp - broken link)

Chace Park, Marina del Rey - Concerts in July, symphonic concerts on Thursdays, and pops concerts on Saturdays. You can call 310-305-9545 for more info. Concerts begin at 7:00 p.m. Calendar of Events (http://beaches.co.la.ca.us/BandH/Events/July.htm#fish - broken link)

Anyone else want to add to this thread? You can include concerts that aren't free, of course.

The Getty has a great concert series for kids that is free in the summer.

Theatricum Botanicum in Topanga Canyon also has a great summer concert series for kids (music and plays for kids) that is a minimal cost.

The rest of the year, McCabes Guitar shop has a fantastic bi-monthly cocert series on Sunday mornings for kids also ata minimal cost.

For all ages, Marina del Rey also has concerts in Fisherman's Village at lunch time on the weekends in addition to the evening concerts at Burton Chase park.

These are all things I'm really going to miss!

-::Starlight Bowl::-
Starlight Bowl in Burbank

We saw a Beatles band The Fab Four last year and although it was blazen hot in the valley it wasn't too bad up top there. It is just around the bend from a romantic restaurant with spectacular sunset views called Castaways
