Anybody else sick of seeing big huge raised trucks? I don't get why these things are even street legal, if a normal car hit one it would get trashed. Is there any effort to ban them?

I've heard that it's technically illegal to modify the center of gravity on a vehicle past a certain degree, but the only time I've ever seen any logic like that applied was by cops using reasoning like that to pull over a car for the sake of having legal cause to do so.

They also raise their headlights to shine RIIIIGHT into your eyeballs so you get blinded when they get behind you. I don't know why there isn't a regulation about how far off the ground headlights should be.

it's legal because this is america and we're supposed to have the most personal liberties of anywhere in the world. i'm not a fan of the raised truck for more reasons than I can count, but i respect the reasons why people are allowed to make these modifications to their vehicles.

I like them myself. If a normal car gets hit by anything it seems to get trashed. About the only complaint that seems legit is about the headlights. Someone may want to check but I think that headlights and bumpers have to be at a certain level. Other than that why mess with someone elses fun?

no one is saying you can't raise your car to make sure your bumper lines up with the raised truck's bumper. and by the same logic you are using, shouldn't big rigs, hummers, and suburbans be illegal since i drive a corolla and it would be totally crushed by any of these vehicles. to take it a step further, since most of my commuting is on a vespa, shouldn't all vehicles that could literally run me over (including my corolla) be illegal? it's a slippery slope, i'd rather have the freedom to choose than not, regardless of the outcome (ie. raised trucks).
