I am in my mid 20..single, self-employed and well-off I'd like to buy a house in the 400-600k range in a neighborhood that i can throw house parties as I am more of a private person and not too social in my early 20s, maybe now i have the freedom to meet more people by throwing parties and making more friends and maybe a girl or two. I have tried online social network but they seem tedious and tiring to just throwing a party which i can hire people to arrange everything.

Obviously, the most desirable areas would be somewhere in Hollywood Hills, Malibu, etc. but that seems to be a bit out of my price range at this time, (sooner or later, i'll get there)

and for the houses that are in my price range, they are in areas like Chino Hills, Rowland heights, etc. which are more of a bedroom community and i doubt that i could throw any kind of good party even if i got a house there.

Can anyone help me solve this problem?

There are some new lofts/condos up in the Sawtelle area of the Westside and the surrounding streets don't have a lot of parking restrictions at night, so it's perfect for guests. I'll take a wild guess since you mentioned east SGV that you're asian so you'll jibe with the area's milieu. Unfortunately I don't think you can buy a single family house for $600k. If you go down south you can find plenty of options in the 600k range in Culver City which is gentrifying yet still hip. But it all depends on where your friends live too. No one wants to drive an hour and a half in Friday night traffic to get to a house party.

hmm.. sawtelle.. never heard of it but checked it out and it's between santa monica and beverly hills.. is it cheap in that area? it's not mentioned a lot on the forum here.

Yes I am asian... i checked out chino hills and found a lot of nice big houses, some even with a huge lawn (20,000+ lot) or a private swimming pool for $350000+. That's pretty cheap.. do you think it's wise to buy there than in the west side at this time?

i think a realtor would offer much better advice than a relocation forum. we can tell you about certain neighborhoods, but as far as undervalued properties, i doubt any of us can be that specific.

Default You want to bother neighbors after 10 P.M.?

Almost every residential area has laws against this, for the protection of sane people who need their sleep, and may even work on Saturdays and Sundays.
