If there is one thing we can all agree about, it's this: Louisiana is spectacularly unprepared for anything that happens to it -- even things it could have planned for.

I'm further blown away by the number of people who appear to work but don't pay taxes! No wonder the state is so poor!

third world country? Not even remotely close.
Nowhere in Louisiana except perhaps the 9th Ward of New Orleans or northeastern river parishes will you find the kind of poverty that is commonplace in cities of the rust belt. Louisiana isnt rich but its not third world poor. Its just very very blue collar.
