Default Spiders

I was just wondering what kind of spiders Louisiana has in general and more specifically in the New Orleans area. I hate spiders in the house, so even small house spiders really creep me out/bug me. Just wondering if anyone can give me a run down on the situation in New Orleans.

In the city area and neighborhoods there are very few spiders. I rarely see them. Maybe once a year I will see a small one in the house. Every now and then I will see a web in a tree with dew on it. Of the ones we do have I'm thinking it is even more rare that one is harmful. There may be more in the rural areas but spiders are generally not a problem around here. Mosquitos and roaches are significantly more common. Hopefully you don't have a problem with those.
