Help me out here....how is it that Black people can have a festival for only black people and its not racist?

Last time I checked, anyone could buy a ticket, it is just that a lot of white people do not choose to go to the festival for various reasons. The same thing goes for the Bayou Classic. Stop trying to insight some type of controversy.

 Come on now, New Orleans have had many concerts, some rock, which are always "white people performing" and usually attended by mostly "white people". But that is really only because of a matter of taste in music. I don't believe that Essence, nor a Rock concert are trying to be racist in anyway, it just happens that we happen to like different type of musical sound. But all are welcomed! It's all good, let's not try to make it what it isn't! Check it out, you will have a great time! |

Moderator cut: no insults here, please People from all walks of life attend Essence Fest. In my opinion, it's the second best music festival in NO all year. First being Jazz Fest, of course. I'll be sure to keep an eye out for Ozzfest, HORDE, Lollapalooza, or anything with a string of rock or country music artists and call all of them racist too. Get real.

Thank you for the explanation....as I said Help me out....and you did thank you.
I was honestly under the idea that only black people were allowed in and that if white people went they would be looked down upon and even harrassed much like it was at Jazz Fest. Again thank you.
