Scientist finds Gulf bottom still oily, dead - Yahoo! News (http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/us_sci_oil_spill_lingers - broken link)

This is not a short talking point but an article bringing together some of the research that has come forward after the well was capped and compared with how the areas were before the blowout happened...
It mentions the danger of the methane gas captured in the Gulf waters which was almost ignored during the concern over the oil's damage...said that the damage done by the methane release was the equivalent of 1.5 to 3 million barrels of oil not to mention the acutual oil that went into the Gulf...
This will be an ongoing problem for years--

the tax $$$ going to the states for those spill numbers need to be upgraded and paid...and I don't know that we have read anything about what BP is doing about paying revenue for those barrels...

interesting to me that one of the reports done that said the oil/damage was being resolved w/o much lingering aftereffects comes from scientist funded by BP grant money...
of course I am sure there is no pressure to turn in results favorable to BP's interest
