Default Cajun Culture

!st off, I'd have to say Cajuns have one of the most interesting cultures out there. I'm Italian, and from CA so I have a damn good culture too, but yours is very interesting. I have been watching Swamp People for a few months now and have really grown fond of it. I have even written a research paper on your culture in one of my college classes. Living off the land is something I admire. Fishing and stuff. Great culture! just wanted to give my 2 cents!

Well the gator wrangling isn't something everybody does obviously, but the music and dancing, festivals, gumbo and crawfish boils, and general joie de vivre is absolutely true.

I agree. The culture is pretty interesting.

They love to party, when the Saints won the Super Bowl, it was a year long party.

Most Cajuns are not like the people in that show and really makes Cajuns look bad.

I love the show. The one who hunts around Hammond is the bad one.

how does that in any way make Cajuns look bad? They are hard working people making a living in the swamps. I dont see how what they do can be viewed in anything but a positive way. Those are real people. They are 100% happy with life and do exactly what they want to do. I guarantee you those people are happier than 95% of the working class.

The guy from Hammond is only Cajun by association. Maybe outsiders can't hear the difference but he very clearly has a Southern Anglo accent like the ones found in Mississippi. The rest have authentic Cajun accents. My only beef with the show is including someone not Cajun into the mix. It aggravates me the same way when I hear someone with an Alabama accent on TV when they're supposed to be in New Orleans.
