Frey or Fry Louisanna (Opelousas, Eunice: house, rated, best)

Tracing my ancestry my grandmother Guillory/Bordelon said she was born in Frey or Fry Louisanna, I can't find it. She said it was the country maybe outside of Eunice. Anyone out there that knows of this community please respond.

My Grandmother's family was from Bazile (a little west of Eunice), so I asked my Mother if she had ever heard of Frey/Fry. Sorry to say, but she hasn't. Just a few suggestions: try the Census records, the parish seat (Opelousas I think, they are really helpful at the court house there), and the Father Hebert books. Best of luck!

Frey is an area located about 4 miles south south east of Eunice. It is an unincorporated community of about 10-15 families spread over a 1-2 mile square area. If you are familiar with Mowata (4 miles south of Eunice on LA 13) then Frey is located 2 miles west of Mowata.

The correct spelling is FREY.

There is a small Frey Cemetary located there that may have names and dates that you could research if you are tracing your family.
