We're going to be calling Lake Charles home!
Hi everyone. I used to post on here as "mdmagana" but lost my password and the account was so old that I don't use the registered e-mail anymore and can't get a new password, etc.
Anyway, I made a new account.
Well, after multiple trips to Ohio, home to California (where we're originally from), and out to Louisiana we've decided on Lake Charles as our new home. Right now I think moving day will be sometime in March or April. The suburbs of Youngstown, Ohio were actually my first choice, but Lake Charles was a close second and I'm really looking forward to it! The way I see pretty much anything is a step up from my current home of Santa Fe, New Mexico.
I've been completely miserable here for nearly five years now.
We're heading out after Thanksgiving to begin house shopping.

I find Lake Charles to be an inexpensive place to live. That should help!

I'm thinking of visiting Lake Charles next month. I have family that lives in Slidell. I lived in Slidell back in '85 before I moved to Columbus, Oh. I moved back to Miss & then relocated here to Birmingham, Al after Katrina. Even after surviving a hurricane I still like it around that area.

This is something that I'm just finding out about. Apparently they are trying to extend and add more real estate to that newer hospital off of Road. It will include a town center, town homes, condos, and retail
