Imagine trying to recover from Katrina without any federal money, no Army Corps of engineers to help rebuild the flood walls, the recent opening of the BC spillway...

If our campaign were to expand to success, such things as Hurricane Recovery, Flood Protection and many other things such as Coastal Restoration, Educational Revamping and Culture Preservation in Louisiana would not just disappear.

If anything they would become more invested in by politics than they are currently.

Now, we do not know when we will see the day of the ORL, we have only estimates of how many citizens will live in the country, what issues d'jour would need to be faced nor do we know the financial future of our region.

We can on speculate, but this is what we have today.

As of common knowledge Louisiana is rich in Natural Resources;

Oil i.e Petroleum and Natural Gas

- 80% of the United States offshore production comes from Louisiana.
- ... thats a third of the nations consumption over-all.
- We are the 2nd largest producer of Natural Gas in the states.
- And the 3rd largest producer of petroleum.

Agriculture

- 8.1 million acres worth of farmland
- 30,000 plus farms total
- 269 acres per farm.
- We are the 3rd largest producer of Rice in the nation.

Seafood Industry

- 90% of the worlds crawfish supply comes from Louisiana's Shores.
- We are the largest national producer of the production of crawfish, shrimp, alligators, menhadden, and oysters.

I only included "South" Louisiana Industries. ( our target area )

to name a few.

We have a major role in Global Shipping:

- Louisiana is home to the largest and 6th largest ports in the Western Hemisphere (The Port of South Louisiana and The New Orleans Port )

- With the Mississippi River we are connected to millions of nationals demand for foreign products that pass through our ports ( 31 states total )

Ecologically:

- Louisiana is home to 40% of the United States wetlands.
- Everyday we lose up wards of 30 footballs fields worth of land everyday
( some state work has been done to prevent this but funds ran out, greatly due to lack of national support) something needs to be done.

Louisiana should and will be more than just a State. We have much to offer on a global scale. Louisiana is not only important to those who love it for its culture, cuisine and history but globally we play a role.

We have the potential; financially, economically, culturally and politically to be more than a state, This campaign under the CPB members have even agreed that a common-wealth form would be be excepted but the mutuality of both Louisiana people and the U.S gov. is needed and thats what we are pushing for.

1 - The question was, basically: " How would Louisiana function financially without the U.S. to help in it need? "

Now this was answered by the LOC with complete detail, and even sources for proofing.

2 - To conclude, if Louisiana were to become the ORL or a nation of any form it would have the ability and functionality to do so, as explained by the LOC.

3 - As a nation or a common-wealth the U.S. would have less control in those sectors, Why? Because Louisiana would be it own nation which debunks your statement.

The only reason Louisiana has to go to the U.S. for help after such occurrences e.g Hurricane Katrina, BP Oil Spill is because of just what you commented, Louisiana's economic income as a state is divide ( mind you, not equally ) between State and Federal gain, and rightfully so we should. Not to mention the FACT that Taxes were dealt with in the same manner until -05' i.e Hurricane Katrina, and its is arguable whether or not that is even necessary.

We have just recently, for the past 7 years existed as the 4th highest gaining state of federal tax pay-backs, pre-Katrina we were 7th.

Before -05' the economy of Louisiana was better than it is today, and probably will be for all of this decade. The money we gained post Hurricane was for support, it has not be a huge game changer on a state level.

We have been factual and true, and are self-permitted to be so throughout our campaign.
Your comment before implied we have not, yet when details are put in front of you you ignore it and find fault.

- What a pity you don't have our side, you are a hard-head ( not an insult ). I personally can't say I like you but you would fit in with our group if you agreed with our views, only difference we don't troll.

And as harsh as that may sound, these secession folks are simply faced with the harsh reality that the VAST majority in the targeted secession region are VERY PROUD AMERICANS first. Many of our fore-bearers will be properly honored on this very Memorial Day for paying the ultimate price for our FREEDOM as Americans.

Forgive us if none of us are in the mood right now to hear about SECESSION from the USA....

As written earlier in this " ORL forum " and as well greatly made note of as a Secessionist movement, " We are not Anti-American "

- Do we agree with the U.S. on political, financial, social, or civil etc. terms, ( completely ) no, which state/ nation does? As Americans we all have that right, the right to speak of our distolerance.

Every active member of the CPB are in disapproval with the U.S. gov., some of us are bitter but the majority are just looking for the most in Louisiana.

Also; as mentioned before in this forum, Secessionism is not treasonous nor anti-patriotic as Americans have labeled it, post- Civil War, only in America ( The U.S.A ) is that of common belief, elsewhere on this Earth we would not be looked at as such, would we be automatically excepted, no, that is not what I'm saying rather; This campaign is not trying to demonize the patriots of South Louisiana for loving the U.S. but recognizing the fact that we are more than just a state of the U.S., we are a Global Region with potential needing arisen, and rightfully with the acceptance of the U.S. Gov. we, The CPB wish for self governance ( as continuously explained throughout this campaign ).

We do not wish for a War, we are not promoting Anti-Patriotism, we do not wish to mark the U.S. with a bad name but influence Louisiana to be more than it currently is.

-----------------------------------------------

LOC Broussard: PO

And on a side note, The U.S. itself, as well as many other great nations, have come to form post Secession mother countries. There was a Louisiana before the U.S. could even be thought of. This country is comprised of bought, stolen and war gained lands, historically speaking I have very little to be proud of as an American, from slavery to war-bound bloodshed.

- At least my Louisiana ancestral paths mix and mingle: Cajun and Creole, Native and African slave, French and Spanish; indifferent but united through blood, cuisine, music, and linguistics.

Happy Memorial Day.
