I was just wondering how the Northern Suburbs are doing. Have they maintained their middle-class or are they part of the Diaspora? I hear that the city itself is still destroyed but I wonder about the condition of the suburbs.

I think Slidell is worse off than Mandeville/Covington/Abita Springs, if ya get my drift.

*I* get your drift, BRMan. I'm living it in Ponchatoula and let me tell you, it s-u-c-k-s. Please, if you have time, would you mind putting your 2 cents in at the "Controversy" forums?? I'm desperate for help.
>:-X Oh well, as to the topic AT HAND: BRMan is precisely right. Slidell? Don't even try it. Six Flags got submerged anyway - what a shame that was! - and I believe it is now defunct as a result. Covington/Mandeville is awesome (though crowded) and you will be able to insulate yourselves with a little bit of $$, "if ya get my drift" as BRMan might say. I believe Abita Springs is more rural (land for sale) although Cov/Man also have land for sale. Difference is, they offer lots of shopping/movie theaters/restaurants, whereas I think Abita Springs is a lot more "country" comparitively. Do not come to Hammond/Ponchatoula (depending on what you're looking for), you will probably live to regret that decision. ;-) Last edited by Cornerguy1; 09-02-2007 at 01:50 AM..
