Default What town should we move to?

My husband and I want to relocate to southern Louisiana. We want to be within an hour of New Orleans but not in it. A small town would be ideal. All we know of the state is what we have read online and seen on TV. What town would be best for cost of living and jobs? My husband is an arborist but has also worked in construction and auto mechanics. I have a degree in HR. Any help you can give would be very appreciated.

Would your husband be going into business for himself or looking for a job? How about you?

He will be looking for a job. He is an arborist but has experience in construction as well. He is willing to do any job necessary to get us going down there.
As for me, I have a degree in HR but will do whatever it takes. Willing to wait tables if I need to.

It's very close to Covington, a town which continues to grow and lure companies to relocate...so I have a feeling jobs could be easy to find
