Default Lake Charles Area Burger Recommendations...

I'm heading down next week to start looking for a place to live. It's a move we've been pondering for a while but it looks like it'll definitely be happening later this year!

I was hoping for some restaurant recommendations. I have a channel on YouTube where I review burgers and such. (cheap and fast food mostly.) Cotten's is on my list for Lake Charles. Is there anywhere else in the area that anyone can recommend for a great burger?

I've heard that Mr. Bills Seafood Express on McNeese Street has good burgers.

Dairy Barn on Nelson Rd, Five Guys, Jack Daniels during the day, Leonard's Food Quarter on Highway 14. I think Famous Food's has one too. Mary Ann's on Broad Downtown, Luna has many sandwiches (also downtown). Many places have seafood and shrimp burgers, and my personal favorite boudin burgers....but I can't recall where you can get one in town.... I will also advice going to McNeese's cafeteria. The burgers are..interesting...but you want to go when veggie burgers are served. You will love it..I hope! Go down to Westlake...the Coffee Cup diner has a decent. Also, Check out the restaurants in sulphur on Ruth Street...too many to list! I personally believe the best is Dairy Barn or Cotten's.

Cotten's was actually not skipped. The OP mentioned it as being on his list. Personally I like the shrimp burger at Cotten's better than their hamburgers.

Yeah, I impulse posted that and didn't realize my error until it was too late to edit my post. I went by there last weekend and we ate in instead of to go. I remember it being better, but it was still good. The onion string basket was awesome but so greasy that I was hurting at dinner. Do they still wrap them in yellow paper and put them in a paper-bag for to-go orders?

Oh, and I noticed there has been some turn over on Prien Lake. Novroskies, Pepper's, Cheeburger Cheeburger, and Dairy Barn were all gone.

Novrosky's went out of business years ago. Pepper's did too, some time after Hurrican Rita. Cheeburger Cheeburger was way overpriced. Not sure about Dairy Barn.

I heard Balls had a good one, but haven't made it there yet.

Its a burger thread, but Tony's pizza was outstanding.
