Hello,

We are looking at the possibility of moving to the Lafayette area at some point in the future. Obviously, Lafayette has a large Catholic population which is one of the things which attracts us to the area. My wife and I are interested in finding a solid and orthodox Catholic parish which is faithful to the magesterium and has a beautiful and reverent Mass liturgy which is done by the rubrics of the Roman Missal. Musically, we both prefer pipe organ with traditional hymns or chant. It does not need to be a Traditional Latin Mass parish, just one that celebrates the Ordinary Form of the Mass with great reverence. Meaty homilies and a vibrant parish life are also a plus, but the most important things for us are fidelity to the deposit of faith and beautiful and reverent liturgy.

Any thoughts or recommendations would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance, and Peace,

Jason

I'm Catholic and your post looks Greek to me. I don't know many of the terms you used.

I am not sure what to tell you. They are pretty normal Catholic terms.

There is a magnificent old church in Carencro. give that one a try. It is in an old wooden flying arches style building and has a very beautiful pipe organ and traditional mass style.

You've probably found St. Peter's in Carencro by now. They have a TLM at 5:30pm.
