It's every man for himself in the gambling game. Whether that is on a casino-by-casino basis or market-by-market basis, each must make it on their own, even in the face of competition. Greed? No, just free enterprise.

Unfortunately that's the way it is w/ most things. Sort of like me working these retail gigs.

It's up to the people of Texas and Texas has more red counties (which typically do not favor gaming) to blue, and I don't think it will happen. Dallas has Oklahoma and SBC casinos to frequent so their market isn't as vulnerable as Houstons/LCs.
If one did, it would probably be Isle of Capri b/c it's on life support right now.

Idk about anyone else, but I personally am not too fond of the name. I think "Mojito Pointe" was way better, plus it's fun to say.

Speaking of Native American casinos, it looks like Bossier City's Diamond Jack's might be purchased by the Chickasaw Nation.[/quote]

Where did you hear about this? I haven't seen anything in the paper about it. Wonder if they (whoever buys) will keep it here?

I could be incorrect if it's the Chickasaw Nation, but it was one of the major Native American tribes. I believe it was on the television news a couple of weeks ago. I'm sorry, that's the best I can recall on that. If I'm able to dig something up, I'll post it.

I have to be honest, I have yet to go to the Casino in Kinder, and I have lived in Louisiana all of my life.

You probably don't gamble? If you did, you have places like L'Auberge du Lac Resort nearby, it's a nice place no doubt it and Coushatta in Kinder is a good 30 minute drive from there.

I guess I'm talking about experience, you have better odds of winning in my opinion, but your chances are still slim. Anyway, if you go to their website, you'll understand it's a nice place too.

Their parking lot is always full of vehicles from Texas and many do come by bus. If one were to drive around in Houston or San Antonio, you would see their advertising on billboards from the freeway. I think they have good marketing but it's the experience that keeps them coming back. Think about it, adding another 30 minutes to their driving/bus trip from Lake Charles to go to Kinder instead.

I personally like Coushatta, I'm from Fort Worth.

I would have to say Coushatta Casino in Kinder 2800 slots and all the latest table games. Players club is the best around. Comps continue to add up as you play and stay on your players card, and totals can be seen at any machine. Can be used for food, gas. entertainment tickets or gifts.
