Has Holly Beach, LA rebuilt?
All of the women in my family has gone to Holly Beach in January for the last 10-15 years. After Katrina, we were forced to take our trip elsewhere. We chose Holly Beach due to sentimental value. We always went crabbing as kids. Our goal for trip taking was first bonding, but then crab eating, and thirdly to hear the waves. Does anyone know if it has rebuilt to the point that anyone has anything for rent there or at Johnson Bayou? I know that this question was asked several months ago, but I imagine progress happens daily. I am aware of the hotels in Hackberry and Cameron, but we would really like a place that we could do our own cooking. I appreciate if anyone has any thoughts. My family is from Central Louisiana, so we try to keep the driving to a minimum.

I do know that people are building homes there again, and I do know that a good portion of the beach was lost to the Gulf. I'm sorry I don't have more information for you than that, though.

Some are renting, The RV park is re opened. Only one other in Holly Beach is renting out their camper. But in Johnson Bayou there are two new cabins for rent. Here is my blog. I have the names & numbers posted.

Holly Beach is in Cameron parish in the southwesternmost corner of La. Can't believe nobody answered your question for 6 days. Come on my Louisiana folks, wake up out there! |

It is on West. Western coast of Louisiana. It's located in Cameron Parish. At the Gulf of Mexico. Do a google search you'll find maps and other stuff.  |
