Couple of things: (1) LaPlace has issues with flooding - especially the Belle Terre subdivision visible from I-10 (keep in mind the city is surrounded by swampa), (2) I don't think there are issues with crime, but I know St. John Parish is racially changing.

The more important question is - where do/will you work ?
