Default Subdivisons in Benton or Haughton

Left S'port area in 1972 to work for a large corp in Cincinnati, now it's time to move back since we have both retired & want to spend those so called golden years fishing, hunting and around family.

We are looking for suggestions for subdivisions in either Benton or Haughton area, although would consider other areas as well. Want to spend $225,000 to $250,000 on a new home either existing or will build. We will be in town in mid Dec. looking for lots & or new homes.

Thanks !!!!

In Haughton if you're looking in that price range, look to Forest Hills and Cornerstone. Perhaps even Tuscany Crossing.

In Benton, your best bets in that price range would be any one of the subdivisions along Kingston Road, which runs between Benton Road and Airline Drive. There are a few subdivisions lining that road now, and then down along Airline and Benton Roads toward Bossier. Also approaching $200,000 the Palmetto area has grown up quite nicely and has newer homes ranging from $175,000-$200,000+.

Also since you appear to be looking for suburban living, don't hesitate to look at Provenance in southeast Shreveport, though. You just might fall in love with Provenance if you drive out there and have a look, and it's close enough to all the newer shopping developments in southeast Shreveport. Take I-49 south from Shreveport, past Bert Kouns. Keep going until the next exit you see, which is a new exit called Southern Loop. Get off at that ramp and head east. You'll cross Wallace Lake Road and then the grand entrance to Provenance will be down on your left a few hundred feet. If you haven't been in that part of Shreveport since the 70s, or even the early 90s, you wouldn't recognize it anymore.

Oh and good luck, I'm glad to hear you're moving back home!
