Crawfish holes! We used to dare one another to see how long you could hold your finger in one of them. She who chickened out first lost. We didn't throw them, but then again we were girls and our mothers would have killed us if we came home muddy.

How about the weather. I know it gets muggy in the summer, but it's nice knowing that you can do most outdoor activities year-round and don't have to worry about being snowed in for weeks or more at a time.

Well speaking of the weather, it's December 8, 2007 and it's 80 degrees here in Shreveport-Bossier... and supposed to be 83 degrees tomorrow. I love the Winters in Louisiana!!

I like the way "Louisiana people" are portrayed in movies, etc. It just shows that people are facinated by us (even though they can't seem to imitate us correctly.)

I laugh the loudest when I hear some cheesy accent from an actor portraying a Louisianian. They always sound like Georgians to me!

And who could watch the Waterboy and not chuckle at least a little bit??

Gotta love us!

The People....I came here battered and bruised, having to hide from my S/O til after court. the people of Welsh took me in, helped me to help myself. I have again learned to look others in the eye, and hold my head up. Through their kindness, I have never gone hungry (such great food too!!) made lots of real friends, and have found a real home. There is nothin I don't love about Louisiana.....except maybe the skeeters LOL

Snow balls, crawfish boils, oak trees with moss hanging from them, music, warm weather, Mardi Gras, history, culture, variety...

(I could go on forever about the food!)

I never dreamed I'd be living back here again after 12 years away. It takes living elsewhere to appreciate what is good and unique about this place.

I had just return on a southern road trip across the deep south from Dallas-Atlanta just say along I-20. If you travel like i do, you begain to realize how much u appeciate home after leaving for a while I love Louisiana so much, so let me cover everthing since yall dont know louisiana as a whole like I do.

I love Louisiana's: Bayous, Bayou Classic Game(Grambling & Southern, NATIONALLY TELEVISED!!!!) Louisiana accents, shrimp, crawfish, gumbo, dirty rice, jambalaya, red beans and rice, Popeyes(trust me, go anywhere esle and u can absolutely taste the difference, do not but from California though) Jazz Fest, Second line funerals, MArdi GRAs!!!!! The Saints, LSU, Best black colleges, Zydeco Music, Cajuns, Creoles, Swamps, Best waterways ever(I can travel almost anywhere in the state buy water, but with my own boat, Politicians make water public transportation happen!!) French culture, Indian culture, Old African culture, Musicians: New Orleans:Master P(a very rich man and successful entreprenuer) Lil Wayne (known in Pop culture as the best rapper out now) Britney Spears(??????) Aaron Neville(Famous Zydeco/Soul Singer) Wyston Marsalas(i cant spell his name but he represents this state well, he has grammy after grammy, and is a famous jazz musician, best since Louis Armstrong) Shreveport: Hurricane Chris (say what u want about the Cedar Grove area, but this young man have given Shreveport much needed attention) Start, Louisiana: Tim McGraw. Bill Russell is from here also. The festivals in Natchitoches are unbelievable. Family values are so great here in the south, the art, one of the richest histories outside of the original 13 colonies. Sportman's Paradise is a well deserving name for Louisiana(When my buddy can step outside his door near Alexandria, shoot a deer, a duck, and catch catfish and have it cooked in so many different traditional ways known to Louisiana all in the same day, u know its sportman's paradise), tress out of water, bald cypress and spanish moss. New Orleans, nuff said. Fort Polk, didnt Bush run there during 9/11? Man, ill stop here, Louisiana is so relevant in so many ways, dont yall know that. We are always on T.V. in some form or fashion, O.J. Simpson's Lawyer, Johnny Cockran (R.I.P) was from Shreveport, A state politician Charles Jones(dislike him) was seen in court with O.J. during his recent probs. Jena 6 drew crowds. Anyway, Im going to the class for the beginning of the semester at my college on a bayou, and eat a Sweep the Swamp pizza at Johnny's Pizza in Monroe. LOUISIANA I love you!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I love the food and the people in LA, but I love the natural beauty of the mountains here in northeast Tennessee.
