I love the bayous and the spicy blues and the Acadians and Cajuns and French creole bourbon and great jazz of the happy delta where the mighty mighty mississip comes crashing into the Gulf

And that accordion of colonial napoleonic code in a place where French civil codes stop the irrational trends of common state law

And lovely century old parishes

I love that Louisiana!!!! What is best part of the L? I want a piece of that L. Be it the river towns in the northwest part of the L
The secrets of ole Baton Rouge

The gems of Alexandria

Or the resilience of New Orleans on the strip.
New Orleans was open minded even in the darkest of times ....it is why it was the greatest city in the US for many years without fail

Where in the L-shaped state of Louisiana is best?

You know also that the Acadian French Canadiens when attacked by the Brits found refuge in the zydeco swamps of Louisiana...it was a Mecca. And the dark villains of an earlier Dixie land could not swim ...there was peace and opportunity for all ....all along .....for all peoples....in the Best kept secrets of the wetlands in the L...it was how the protagonists survived and how Lousiana music made airwaves world wide such as that olllllllld time 2-step ...

Lake Charles and Lafayette are in the middle of an economic boom right now. More amenities, shopping destinations, restaurants, and housing options than ever before.

Lake Charles in a boom? I'm not aware of that.

But I would say yes, great time to move here as long as we keep on a straight and narrow path.

A whopping $19B in industrial investment is serious! Wonder how that compares to Ascension Parish.

Was wondering if this has anything to do with oil/gas development? I was interning in Lafayette over this summer and someone said oil and gas "used to be big here" and I wasn't sure if he was referring to Lafayette in particular or Louisiana in general.

It has a lot to do with natual gas infrastructure. Lake charles is investing heavily in it more than ever.
Lafayette is diversifying more into technology and healthcare and retail.
both cities are expanding quickly.
