Default Sterlington, LA

I may be moving to Sterlington, LA. Can anybody give me info on this community? Is this a good place to raise a family? How long a drive is it to Monroe? Does anybody know how long a drive it is to Crossett, AR?

Need info urgently! Thanks.

Sterlington is a very tiny town just outside of Monroe. It's a very backwoods-type of place. If that's what you're looking for you'll love it there. If not, you should consider Monroe. It's at least a decent-sized city at +/- 50,000. I have no idea about the drive to Crossett from Sterlington, sorry. I've never been to Crossett.

My husband is from Crossett so we have made the drive often from Monroe (which is about 10-15 minutes south of Sterlington). It takes about 45 minutes or so from Monroe. My husband and also his mother used to drive from Crossett to Monroe every day to work. It was a little bit of a drive but not so far that they couldn't commute. Not much in Sterlington other than homes though. Where are you moving here from? It may be quite a change from what you are used to. Good luck.

Default Sterlington is my home

Sterlington is a lovely town. It has grown up a lot since my family and I moved here from a moderate size town in Missouri. Sterlington is about 12 miles from Monroe and 45 minutes from Hamburg, AR. I've honestly never gone to Crosset from Sterlington. They have built quite a bit of rental property over the past several years and there are a few houses for rent in the "Old Village." The people here are friendly, but not so friendly it gets on your nerves. We are close enough to Monroe to go shopping when we need to, but far enough away that we can let our kids go outside to play without standing there with them all the time. I've raised two grown sons here. One of them knows every one in the village (or did while growing up.)
It's just a nice place to live. Things seem to have opened up quite a bit.

Good luck.
Juanita

My husband will be working in Sterlington for possibly 6 months, does anyone know of any reasonable weekly/monthly rentals, hotels, kitchenettes, etc?
