Antque Alley and the Garden District in Monroe if those things interest you. Someone else here might be able to tell you more about Monroe.
Near Gibsland, which is located off I-20 between Monroe and Shreveport is the site where Bonnie and Clyde were ambushed and killed by the police. There is a museum near there and a place marker at the site where the ambush occurred.
In Shreveport-Bossier, you have the Harrah's Louisiana Downs casino and horse racing track on the far eastern edge as you first begin to enter Bossier City. In downtown, the riverfront is lined with casinos and has a really nice riverfront shopping/dining/entertainment area called Louisiana Boardwalk. Bass Pro Shop, Hooters, Joe's Crab Shack, Regal Cinemas, etc are the main anchors to the Boardwalk. The property also includes a carousel for the kids, a few nightclubs, possibly a bowling alley, lots of stores and other restaurants, and a trolley.
Also downtown, but on the west bank of the river, is a small art gallery with a small indoor botanical garden. Next door to this building is Riverview Park with fountains for kids to play in, a scenic riverwalk area, man-made waterfall and picnic tables. Across the street from Riverview Park is the Red River Waterway Visitors Center, the Sci-Port science museum/space center, Shreveport Civic Theater (opera, ballet, symphony, etc.) Also there are two large casinos, a few restaurants, and a lot of nightclubs within a short walk.
In far west Shreveport, near the Texas/Louisiana state line, there is Watertown USA but that will be closed for a few more months. Out that way there is also the American Rose Center, which is the nation's largest rose garden and headquarters to the American Rose Society. Also out there near the state line there is a petting zoo and alligator farm complex. I doubt it will be open, though, but for any future trips it's a nice little treat.
Hope this helps you...
