Unhappy Looking for burial Plot/ Lost my Son/HELP

Hello everyone, My name is Adam Mcgovern. I lost my son ( Bryan Daniel Mcgovern), In Welsh County La. In 1999. He was buried in Marion,La. He was born 09/14/89. I have looked everywhere I can think of in all the directories and can not find his burieal Plot. All I know is it is not Pulpit, This is 2nd hand info. I was in Colorado when the death accured, & could not get the information from the X wife. Their house burned down to the ground, somewhere between jefferson, & welsh counties. If there is anyone out there who might have any information on his location , or a way to find out how to find him, I would be for ever in your debt. He is burried under the only large tree in this cemetary. Please help me.. Adam M. McGovern

As his father, you should be able to get a copy of the death certificate from the county (if we are talking Louisiana here, it will be a parish, not a county) in which he died. I would start there. It will most likely mention where he is buried and to whom he was released (funeral home, etc) from the hospital. You can call them to find out more if the certificate doesn't specify, but most likely it will.

I am so very sorry for your loss.

Terribly sorry for your loss. One thing that I can tell you is that there isn't a Welsh County in Louisiana. Did you Mean Union Parish (County), because that's where Marion is located. There is a town called Welsh in Jefferson Davis Parish. The only Jefferson Parish is near New Orleans.

Thank to all that have replied, Yes this was Jefferson davis parish. I get confused to how they are listed as a parish,as I have never been there. Bryan was supposed to have been buried in Union Parish ( Marion). I have not have the access to his Certificate as of yet, I am also disapointed in myself as to letting him go this way, but could not handle it as truth. his mother did not give any other information. again thank you all so much for your concern and help, adam

I'm from Welsh and am still there quite often. If he would have been buried there I would go look myself.
Marion is a long, long ways from Welsh. It's near the Arkansas line.
Your Bryan would be the same age as my little brother (just a few months older). If he went to school in Welsh, they most probably would have been in the same grade. I don't recall them losing any children to a fire right off hand but it's been a long time. I can ask him though, if he remembers that happening.
This is a small town and everyone knows everyone. I wouldn't want you to put this on a public forum but if you want, you can PM me some names and I can see what I can find out. I know alot of people around town.

P.S. I just called my brother and he does indeed remember a friend named Bryan dying in a house fire when they were little kids. He doesn't know any details though. They were just little boys.

I'm not that far from Marion so, I will keep an eye on this thread to see which town it turns out to be. I also have quite a few friends that live near Welsh. I will start asking around to see if anybody has heard of this.

I am also sorry for your tradgic loss.

I am so sorry for your loss.

I would think you might also check in with all the funeral homes in the area. Find the one that handled the burial and they should be able to tell you where he was buried.

I was doing a little searching on this today and found a match on Ancestry.com about your Bryan. I was origionally searching info on the Marion area and was lead to another website where I found some information. However, unfortunatly, it costs to retrieve more than just basic info there at Ancestry.com so, I hit a brick wall. You can check it out and persue this avenue if you want or if someone here or someone you know already has access to Ancestry.com.

Bryan Mcgovern - Ancestry.com

Here is a partial screenshot of what the info said, incase you can't get to the link above. They will have more info, including burial information.

I also have contacted 2 friends that live in or near Welsh. They are offshore now but, will be contacting the Fire Department there soon to retreive a report. From there, hopefully we can find info on which town he was buried in. I already have a list and maps of all the cemetaries within a 10 mile radius of Marion. As Lindsey suggested above, calling the local funeral homes in that area would be a great idea. I may call around to the ones around Marion tomorrow after I get home since it's not long distance.

Thank You Wendy W & Bayoukid, & others. for you help & support so far. I think the vageness of the information, and the lack of, commication abilities is making me seem to think that I should just give this up.There were 2 Parish fire deptments there. The fire cheif from jefferson Davis said the could not do anything to put it out it was lost when they got there. So I was wondering how far out this house must of been to take so long to get there. If they went to the same school you must of lived some what close buy to their house No? The Mothers' Name was: Yvonne Marie either ( Vounov,McGovern, or Browne ) Her nick name was Bam or Bambi, She had 5 boys' Joshua, Jeffrey, Jonathon, Brandon Browne, & Bryan D. McGovern. She was seeing a man from that town, And she left, later he came back there. I think he must have a problem w/ his contious . If ther are any other clues you fid please E_Mail me. ADAM
