Hey there!

I may be possibly be moving to Louisiana at the end of March, so I'm being proactive and starting my search now. I'm already expecting a battle of find housing since I'm moving with two pit bulls and an American Bully. However, I have an excellent letter of reference from my current landlord of almost six years who adores my dogs, letters from my neighbors and a trainer that I have worked with. I'm hoping that makes my search relatively easier.

However, I'm having trouble narrowing down a city or even particular area. Craigslist is proving to be a pain because I don't know exactly where to look.

I will be working in Assumption Parish AND New Orleans, so my time will be split between the two locations. I'm looking for a place that's relatively inexpensive to live in and somewhere in the middle of those two locations.

I'm not too worried about moving into into a "bad" neighborhood. My dogs are a good deterrent and I own firearms.

I just need to be pointed in the right direction! Either a section of craigslist to look in or website to check out. Apartments are basically out of the question because of my dogs. I will be looking for private landlord residences only.

If you can help, that would be awesome! Thanks!

You didn't say if you were concerned about commute times between Assumption Parish or Orleans/Jefferson Parish. Nor did you say how much time you would be in each place. So just a stab in the wind here, how about Thibodeaux, La.?

I'm prepared for a decent commute since they're roughly an hour and a half apart. I figured I would easily be making an hour commute either way.

I'll be in each location for a typical working day.

I will check it out! Thank you!

Napleonville is another choice but is more rural than Thibodeaux. Lots of great places to live. Wishing you luck. Let us know!

Trulia or CJ Brown for housing.

Not many particularly great areas in between there. Thibodeaux and Houma are the biggest cities in the area.
