Coast of Cameron Parish
I am retired, live in North Louisiana, but once lived in South Louisiana. My best fishing-hunting buddy lives in Lafayette now, and one of our favorite things to do is to go camping and also to go crabbing two or three times a year. We have crabbed at Rockefeller Preserve before Rita, but there is no place to camp out there; so we have had to get up and drive for hours to get there by daybreak. (The preserve's rules allow people in only during daylight hours. I'm very aware of the devastation done by Hurrican Rita, to all of Cameron Parish, and am sad for the people there. Would like to meet some of them and become friends. Maybe we could come down not only to go crabbing but, also, to pitch in and help with some carpentering and such. All we want is a place to camp out on private land, near a place we can go crabbing. And we would gladly help out with a little carpentering and such, to help a friend. Sometime soon, we would like to drive down to the area, talk with some friendly people, and see what we might be able to do to help out a little, as well as ask permission to camp out, and go crabbing and wade fishing. We might even be interested in buying a small, undeveloped place we can come down and camp out at.
