Question Need help deciding..Thibodaux, Raceland or Houma?

I will be relocating to Louisiana next month from Houston and need help on deciding which town would be best to live in. We want a town with good schools, low crime and affordable housing (90k-150k). I will be working in Raceland and want to live within 25-30 miles. I was thinking about Houma,Thibodaux or even Raceland. Anybody have any ideas?

I lived in Lockport for about 2 years and loved it. Its close to all 3 towns you mentioned and is quiet and a fun place to be. There is hardly any crime and great schools

All three towns have nice places to live. Houma is the largest with lots of places to shop, eat, etc. Thibodaux is next in size, this town is a good place to live and relax -- there is a night life here but I'm over 50 and don't indulge. Raceland is the smallest of the three and while it is nice--it's small and you may have to go elsewhere for different things. All the places have a walmarts, etc. People are friendly throughout. I don't know about the schools. Just beware that hurricanes do impact this area and flooding can occur. Good luck

I grew up in Raceland, and the school system was great. Not much available for entertainment, but Houma, Thibodeaux, and even New Orleans are pretty close, so that should not be much of a problem. Its a great place! My husband refuses to move there, though (he's a city boy) Good luck!
