That's pretty sad, my room mate is from Little Rock, although he and his whole family have creole and hail from Louisiana so they're familiar.

For crying out loud, it's a state that borders you, and it's shaped like the first letter in its name!!! Some people have their heads buried in the sand here. Louisiana is awesome!!
Well, I think you can contribute that more to the educational system in San Antonio, rather than Louisiana being unimportant. A lot of Texans cannot even draw their own state correctly.

The educational system in Texas in general is pretty good, and a few steps ahead of that in Louisiana. However, it's not like it's universal in every part of the state. San Antonio's not the most educated place in the world, but neither is say... Alexandria. I think really folks in this metro area are just living kinda in a smaller world, not that they're necessarily stupid. They're just primarily only concerned with South Texas. I'm just tryin' not to hate, since I just got here, haha. I ran into plenty of people in Baton Rouge that didn't know about anything north of I-10 or outside Southeast Louisiana. Hell, I met people in Baton Rouge that had never even been to New Orleans.

I really hate it when a US citizen cannot draw the US fairly accurately. I could understand other countries, but every citizen of a country should be able to approximately describe the shape of their country.
