Default Dry area in Slidell

I'm looking to relocate to the Slidell area this summer and was wanting to find out which areas of Slidell stayed dry during the Katrina storm serge. I can deal with wind and rain, but after a mission trip to help out after Katrina I'd like to stay out of surge/flood zones. Any help is appreciated.

thanks,

Frank

It is pretty safe to say that anything close to I-12 was ok, there were some areas back by the pearl that took on some water but in general exit 266 off of I-10 or Gause Blvd to I-12 was fine. You may find some isolated flooding in local areas but you just need to check them keeping in mind that Katrina was supposed to be a 100 year event. I currently have a house for sale that stayed dry in katrina and had no damage, I do not know what you are looking for but would be interested in sending you some info if interested and it is not in a flood zone.

thanks,
Neil

Smile anything above I-12

pretty much anything above I-12. I don't know what you are looking for. The prices range from 130-150K for a fixer upper. For a move-in ready home prices are 225K+

I live above I-12 and we don't flood what so ever and the crime is very minor,if any.

Cross Gates, Magnolia Forest and many neighborhoods near and North of I-12 faired well with flooding. There are many nice subdivisions off of Robert Road that also did well. Tanglewood, fountain estates etc.
