Yes, Blanchard is a clean community with a relatively high annual income for a Lousiiana town or city. It has gotten to be more of a bedroom community in recent years with the Northwood Country Club and developments surrounding it. It is also more German in ethnic make-up. Many residents are employed by Universal Oil Products which makes catalysts for the refining industry. UOP employs a lot of professional degreed people such as Chemists, so its no sweatshop. I spent my youth in the Blanchard area, those were wonderful days!

Fraid not. You can buy brats and sauerkraut in the grocers, but no eateries. I like German style cooking and would probably like Czech, Slovak, Hungarian, etc. My late father was a native of Ohio and I became acquainted with that food in Amish country. Mamma was a Southerner, but liked some of it. I know Texas hill country has some of those good places.
